@hgbruenker Those who voted remain knew that the promises of Brexit were not based in reality and ignored so many benefits. Unfortunately, the United Kingdom is still in denial that its time has passed, as did the British Empire.
We fumbled the opportunity that the EU offered, to *be* English, Scottish and Welsh, Irish, and yet still preserve our historical identity.
Sadly, we have to sort out what that means for us before we can co-exist again as good neighbours.

@older @Tendar Interesting point about memes is that when they work well they share an idea that crosses cultural boundaries and languages. In fact a well known meme helps illustrate ideas from a foreign culture. So someone can post a meme about, e.g. Finland, and it will translate.
Strikes me that Russian culture is still very insular and isolated (has been for centuries, which is part of their core problems) and this is reflected in their memes.
