I've seen two friends toot today that men are sliding into their DMs here in the fediverse, and non-consensually engaging in sexual chat.

That's just not okay.

While, obviously, I'd hope that no-one reading this would do such a thing, if this does sound like you, please, do better.

@JuliusGoat A key point: for the fundies, the world burning and the end of civilization is a key milestone towards paradise. Nuclear apocalypse, climate change and suffering of humanity is literally a feature. Providing they're ok, of course.

@rodlux Neil Hannon of the Divine Comedy warned us, just weeks after the 2010 election:

@Free_Press "Realized"? There's a lot of steps, yes, but it starts with just one. Turn round and head back to Moscow.

@mattbors Excellent. A whole back I posted Thomas Flight's essay on the movie. He argues that the protagonists (possibly Garland as well) have given less thought to the background of the scenario they're in than you have.

A new post with comics and ramblings on Civil War (the movie), The Purge, and fun stuff like that.

@DreadShips Not surprised to see Akshata Murty trying to blend into the background, using Dazzle camouflage.

It's causing a 4 minute delay and adding stop/start issues. But no way to report. ITVX works fine.

Is it just me, or is The ITV broadcast of really laggy?

@WinstonRowntree Great to hear. As a fan of Kevin Smith's Dogma, I really liked the idea of "Secret Satan". No takers on that?

Let us hope constitutional law can get back to being boring again. We will be a happier polity for it.

Ukpol

Just realised that this result happened despite the Tories redrawing all the constituency boundaries to favour them and despite their attempts at voter suppression through forcing ID at polling stations.

David Lammy leaves open the possibility of a return to the direct grant for BBC World Service. That would be a small but remarkable thing. Let no one in the UK forget that BBCWS has hundreds of millions of listeners each week!

@jon I do feel that the UK electorate worked round the limitations of FPTP for a more diverse parliament... Although it could be reflective of lower turnout. Hope we will have that conversation as part of restoring trust in the political process.

Morning thoughts on : whilst we do need electoral reform and PR, the UK electorate showed they could work round this, for now. Aside from the big Lab majority, the strength and variety of MPs from minority parties seems more diverse than ever.
