@JuliusGoat A key point: for the fundies, the world burning and the end of civilization is a key milestone towards paradise. Nuclear apocalypse, climate change and suffering of humanity is literally a feature. Providing they're ok, of course.

@Free_Press "Realized"? There's a lot of steps, yes, but it starts with just one. Turn round and head back to Moscow.
@mattbors Excellent. A whole back I posted Thomas Flight's essay on the movie. He argues that the protagonists (possibly Garland as well) have given less thought to the background of the scenario they're in than you have.

@tferrer 😮No esperaba que Witney cambiara.
@jon I do feel that the UK electorate worked round the limitations of FPTP for a more diverse parliament... Although it could be reflective of lower turnout. Hope we will have that conversation as part of restoring trust in the political process.
Morning thoughts on #ukge24: whilst we do need electoral reform and PR, the UK electorate showed they could work round this, for now. Aside from the big Lab majority, the strength and variety of MPs from minority parties seems more diverse than ever.
Just another worried little citizen of this modern-day Pompeii. Techie at UCL, working on Process Automation with MS Power Platform. Scatterbrain, interested in education, languages, Space and lots of disparate things. sorry.
Keeping my space toots at @astrodad as an experiment in self-moderation :)
