@Sphinx I think a bot would have to take some sort of action, like saving data, posting data or communicating with a server or user, not serving data. At that point Google is a bot.

@realcaseyrollins @Sphinx An automated search program, assuming you mean looking at website contents for indexing, would be called a crawler, most likely. Or a spider, going about the web.
