There was a request on an earlier post for some quantifiable measure of quality or otherwise of the head of the current US administration. The Washington Post keeps a database, notice its last updated January 16th, so current numbers would be higher yet.

@design_RG Keep in mind WP is also a significantly left-leaning publication. So while I have no doubt trump has lied, a lot, the specific figures here are likely to be exagerated due to the inherent lean in source.

@freemo I believe all the logged incidents added to the counter are disclose on line, with the proper fact checking that justify it being a warped statement. So if anyone is curious, they can follow up and judge.

I do not see the Washington Post as a biased source, it's a world wide read news source, similar to the NY Times, The Guardian, Le Monde, etc.

Would say that about what goes on air in Fox News though.

@design_RG Both New York Times, and The Guardian have been independently classified as left-biased, there are several agencies that monitor news and try to objectively analyze if they have an agenda left or right. Literally every news source you listed has been confirmed by them to be left-leaning agenda.

If you want neutral agencies those would be things like APR, Reuters, and USA Today to name a few.

As for them putting a source to all the claims up, they probably do. I suspect allsides and similar agencies that determined their left-leaning agenda used lists exactly like that and other articles posted to determine their lean in the first place.

Sources dont help unless people actually bother to check them all, which i doubt most people will do in this situation.

By the way Fo news is right-leaning and not considered neutral. But they are considered to be as biased towards the right as the Washington Post is considered biased towards the left.

@freemo I am happy with the sources I mentioned, although I do follow and read AP, and Reuters sometimes; they both have good reporting and detailed coverage.

I think the WP editorial room would be shocked in being equalled with Fox News as being equally distant from a neutral reporting perspective! 😛

Fox News is mostly pure propaganda and mass manipulation, at the service of their corporate overlord.

@design_RG Well I suspect that your opinion largely comes from the fact that you yourself are left-leaning. Usually left leaning people dont see left-leaning news as biased, and see right leaning-news as even more biased than it is.

The truth is, happy wit it or not, all objective attempts to classify the news sources show they are just as biased as fox news int he opposite direction. With that said, you are correct that they are not as biased as some other sources.

So "Fox News Online" is considered only right-leaning, but middle of the road, same category as the washington post has but left leaning. However "Fox News Opinion" (which is a lot of what you are thinking of) is considered "extream right", which is in line with what you said about it being purely propaganda. imilarly the WAShington Post's opinions is also considered extream-left and mostly propaganda.

@design_RG Her eis a map from allsides updated from just last year I was able to find.
