Er ist seit 2017 Professor für Sozialstrukturanalyse an der Universität Basel. Für sein Buch "Die Abstiegsgesellschaft" (2016) erhielt Nachtwey 2017 den von der Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung vergebenen Hans-Matthöfer-Preis für Wirtschaftspublizistik.

When I first signed up at mastodon I had no idea what the different instances were, how I would choose one over another or what difference any of it made. When you signed up, which is closest to your experience of choosing a server/instance to use?

Seems as if people are coming here for different reasons. I want more friendly conversation even if I’m discussing politics. When people attack each other, it is completely unproductive, and alienating. I’m hoping we can avoid that mess.
