Do we really need more dis-/mis- or just generally bad information out here, just so some engineers can claim "10% more clever" for their 15 minutes? We should be using our power for good. Our ethics and mores are really not keeping up with the tech.

US politics, Supreme Court, reproductive rights
If Black folk can vote, you don't get to do fash-y things.
You can't end women's reproductive rights.
You can't ignore climate change.
You can't spend billions on cops to harass Black people, while you cut art and music and computer classes from schools.
You can't have a public health system best described as "eugenics, but slower."
You can't implement racist immigration policies.
Southern states are not red. They're suppressed.
Just tried ChatGPT. I asked it a series of specific Qs about areas I've studied in detail.
On all Qs, it gave answers that are plausible sounding but wrong. Not obviously wrong: wrong in subtle ways that need deep domain knowledge to grasp.
The ways humans will be practically misled by this kind of tech if trusted with, say, doling out medical, legal or business advice is horrific.
Letting this tech loose on the world will further destroy search engines that are already riddled with SEO BS.
It looks like The NY Times staff walkout will be going through tomorrow, so reminder that a digital picket line (which includes all NYT platforms and products) is still a picket line. Don’t cross it—break your word game streak for workers’ rights!
You can also write in directly to let them know you support giving their workers a fair contract.

The attack in Moore County, SC is quite significant:
https://www.thepilot.com/news/ongoing-timeline-county-still-dark-after-substation-attacks/article_b3b19780-7370-11ed-865d-c78d0de5d921.html
Some unknown organized parties vandalized multiple power substations, apparently using firearms. It may be connected to the larger stochastic terrorist movement targeting trans individuals and drag performances.
And whether or not this particular incident was related to the ongoing stochastic terrorism, we have a stochastic terrorism problem right now. Fueled by Facebook and Twitter.

@matthew_d_green “Some humans would do anything to see if it was possible to do it. If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.”

Have to agree with Garak here, all exploted workers should #strike, if the withdrawal of their labour disrupts the "economy" then clearly their contribution is important and their demands should be heard.

Gooseberry Falls is such a beautiful place. It's not too far from Duluth, and has at least a few paved paths for folks that want/need them. I've walked on the falls frozen in winter, and traced them to Lake Superior.
Lovely bit of joy seeing this critter in MN this morning! Have a lovely day!
Question about TERF
@admitsWrongIfProven
This is just my understanding - many of the female TERFs are radical feminists in the sense that they profess to support women and girls with great fervor. They oppose the "dilution" of rights/protections for girls and women by the supposed erasure of "womanhood" by including trans women as women.
I'm sure there are more scholarly definitions, but like I said, this is my understanding of the radical feminist part. (I think of them more as wRong feminists.) ;)
