Question for the #datascience and #dataengineering folks. What would you say is the most important task or activity that data engineers do or fulfill on a regular basis? Is that also the thing that takes the most time or causes the most resource constraints?

Gonna keep doing a few #introduction posts cuz it feels kinda nice to have a bit of a fresh start. A lot of you just follow me for my spicy tech policy takes, but for most of my life I was actually better known as a musician. @loutre@potate.space Overwatch 2 is playable, performance is slightly worse for me than Windows with a GTX1080 and I7-6700k. About 120 frames as oppose to 200.
I haven't played Fortnite but the website www.protondb.com is great for checking steam comparability, and the Lutris website will tell you if a specific tweak is needed.
Caught up with #ThePeripheral so started #TheDevilsHour, I'm only one episode in and I've only seen Capaldi in his rendition of #DoctorWho but I'm already invested.

Did you know that if you capitalize each word in a multi-word hashtag, #ScreenReaders can read them as words, but if you leave them lowercase, they can't? Well, now you know! So, for #accessibility, please capitalize words when there's more than one in a hashtag.

My background is in architectural engineering and environmental design - I am currently a research associate at Newcastle University where I study how a person's immediate environment can affect their health outcomes. @Marfey @gamingonlinux I don't recall if you said you were already using the game on Lutris, and this may be irrelevant; but try double checking you have the appropriate drivers for your system. These two links should give you the correct packages for your OS:

@svargas Thanks for the advice Sam, I suppose my difficulty is filtering through all of the fluff to find what jobs are available and what languages are prominent.
I'm struggling to think of the end goal, or project I want to complete - so I feel somewhat lost without something to work towards.

Looking for some advice - what is the 'best' #programming language (in your opinion) to learn if you want to career change?
I started learning #python a while back and I'd say I have the fundamentals down but there's a lot of room for improvement.
I'm not sure whether to pick #python back up and go all in, or whether to try something like #TheOdinProject and work towards front-end/web-design.
I don't work in tech, though I've always found it intriguing and I'm not sure where to commit my time. Any advice appreciated.
@tamas I genuinely love The Blue Nowhere by Jeffrey Deaver - though I must point out it's very 'of it's time'.
It's a murder/thriller based around social engineering and hacking - but the tech is going to be very 'dinosaur'.
I still recommend it however :)
