I've been using the Chromium browser for certain websites, and that's about to end.

Google's greed-fueled moves -- this time to disable vital extensions that provide better privacy and security -- are unacceptable to me.

The stakes here are quite high. If Google succeeds what it's attempting to do -- forcing users to use only Google-approved privacy and security choices -- we're in trouble.

Firefox looks like the best way forward at this point.

Oh man, this news story. Former MLA from Winnipeg asks Meta's own "ask AI" chatbot if a phone number he found on Google is really Meta support. It tells him yes. Another day of downtime because I forgot that updating mod_phpX.Y requires me to update to phpX.Y-sqlite3. Quickly resolved, but.

Is there a way for me to specify local-only dependency changes in apt? As in, to say "I know that out in the world mod_PHP doesn't depend on php-sqlite3 but _here on this computer, for reasons_ it definitely is?
