Facetimed my mom in Ottawa for a few minutes while I’m in Naples, so she could talk to her grandkids. Sent some pictures over email to friends I haven’t seen in a few years because something I saw reminded me of them.
It’s easy to forget this, but I’m old enough to remember when long distance calls meant five or ten bucks of voice only per minute, and when somebody left town they were just gone. As in “gone”, gone.
