@NosirrahSec if theyre coming from russia or china they often dont even bother trying to hide much, because they know there isnt shit you can do.
there used to be this old firewall addage in like 2005 which was "do you do business with the country? no? then firewall it off", but as folks went to the cloud they stopped caring about that part.
i suppose its starting to come back into favor, heh
Time for #Jarre to close off #paralympics
Back in the late '90s I registered / paid for a few programs for the Apple Newton with Kagi, one of the early payment processors. I hadn't much thought about them since.
On IRC, I just overheard that there is some paid search engine called Kagi, at the same URL.
But, what happened to the Kagi I knew? A little digging revealed that it did not end well for the beleaguered company headed by Kee Nethery.
Kagi Shuts Down After Falling Prey to Fraud (article dated 2016)

"The news was as sad as it was unexpected. Kagi, one of the earliest digital commerce companies and long a favorite of many Mac shareware developers, has shut down as of 31 July 2016, just shy of 22 years in business."
Sad story.

Are you an angler, canoeist, hiker, or wild swimmer? Do you regularly visit one or more UK rivers?
Could you spend 15 minutes monitoring your river in the next week?
Data gathered during Big River Watch can support policy change; helping turn the tide on plastics or stem the flow of untreated sewage.

Heads up Tusky users, Tusky 26.2 has been pushed by ConnyDuck and it is now on Google Play*. This version is a bugfix release but you particularly want it because it fixes a serious bug previously in 26.1 (and possibly 26.0) related to use of multiple accounts, particularly multiple accounts on the same server. Check if you got it and if not, have Play manually update
* I don't know when it hits FDroid, FDroid deploys are usually a day or three slower and I don't think we have control over this
Just finished James SA Corey's latest, "the Mercy of Gods". Somehow labelling this as 'space opera' doesn't seem to capture the scope of this novel. Great characters, brilliant science/world building, and gripping writing.
Like so much of the Expanse series, the threat of violence is always there, but the plot hangs on relationships and powerful, devastating choices.
As Ministers introduce plans to remove heredity peers from the Lords... the Q. is will this be the first step of meaningful reform of the second chamber, or be seen as sufficient.
Here's my proposals for reform...
Choose members by lottery;
Limit terms of office to two years;
balance citizens with experts;
increase the voice of the young;
Focus scrutiny on key bills.

1) It was a pleasure to deliver a keynote speech at the Westminster eForum Conference: The future of data protection in the UK. After wasting four years with the DPDI Bill, what’s in store for the upcoming Digital Information and Smart Data Bill? Some highlights below:
