Yes perhaps I am overthinking it perhaps not. Mastodon definitely is the closest thing which exist but not perfect for code sharing.

I think you Lucifer don't know what I mean because you never worked with Github Gist.

Gist can be seen as some sort of special repo(actually it's a git repo) but optimized for sharing small pieces of code(usually a single file). A real repository would be an overkill for such a purpose and also it doesn't support comments the same way Gist does.

Think it of something like Mastodon but optimized for sharing small pieces of code in a single file or at most only a handful. People could comment, fav, boost, etc.

I believe ActivityPub can be used for such a purpose.

The regime has a lot of money and connection and can find ways to avoid sanctions. However, Iranians are blocked from every online service, online shops are others.

#alibaba chinese online store does not let Iranians buy stuff from it. It even does not let one with Iranian IP simply visit their website. But we still have #chinese_products all around here which most of them are crap and their prices are usually not cheap.

A week ago, people in #Sistan in south east of #iran were attacked with military weapons. Some videos were showing a military helicopter patroling around.
While till that day after about 2 weeks of #protests about 100 were killed, in a single day in #zahidan the biggest city of Sistan at least around 30 were killed including women and few children.

The next day #irib said they were terrorists attacking innocent people after the #friday_prayer

The #western_persian_medias such as #bbc said it was Iran's forces. However in the next days everyone forgot that and those medias put emphasize on #nika_shakarami and #mahsa_amini only.

People of Sistan are not only the poorest people in Iran but they are also alone and it seems the majority of Iranians don't care much about them.

@tomxcd@fedi.nullob.si I'm still rust newbie. But replacing #javascript is not easy. I totally agree with you if you think js is not clean and neat. Unlike #rust and #python or let's say most programming languages out there.
Currently for #frontend there is no other choice but javascript.
