Since we announced #QOTO hitting 1,000 users at the end of last week we are only half way through this week and already hit 1,300 users. It seems each week we gain new users faster than the last. It took us a while to get to 1,000 users but now we seem to be averaging about 600 new users a week, thats crazy. I hope we can keep up this pace.
Thanks for being such an amazing, loving, and accepting community. This is only possible because of all of you and the way you've welcomed people with open-arms. Keep it up!

@freemo @spinflip @arteteco @absolutus gizajob!
@freemo @spinflip @arteteco @absolutus on a similar subject can you tell me what the purpose or value of the Fedration Bot is, can I turn it off?
@PJanuszka if anyone from one server follows someone from a different server then those servers become federated, meaning that persons posts will now show up int he federated feed as well as be searchable.
Yes you can turn it off by adding #nobot to your profile, then follow bots shouldnt follow you anymore in the future.
@freemo Ah, I didn't know arteteco was a mod. Still, there's a lot of work to be done. I've also got a suspicion that the light-touch rules of this instance are going to crash into reality at some point with bad-faith users skirting the rules while making qoto a less pleasant place to be for everyone... We'll see how that works out.
On a separate note: can we try to get out of the habit of jumping into conversation threads with a question or thought that clearly only involves *some* of the participants, but leaving everyone tagged?
@freemo what are your plans for administering/moderating the increased number of users here? More people will mean more advertisers, more spambots, more trolls, more nazis looking to propagandise… if moderation is entirely down to you and @absolutus, it's going to be a struggle to stay on top.
