I'm not sure if the bad actor here is the police or Fox 4. I imagine (at least, I hope) that the search was done because a possible crime (namely, his shooting) was done in the apartment, and as part of the search, someone went through a closet and was like "huh. Pot."

Then some knucklehead at Fox 4 was like "ooh, moral ambiguity, that sells" and shot that tweet.

Maybe. I'm assuming good faith (or at least short-sighted self-interest before malice) and haven't read the story. It's still disgusting either way.
