@anornymorse
Its a specific form of Libertarianism which believes there is a need for the government but said need should be minimized to a handful of key areas.
@anornymorse Agreed, i find it silly. Libertarianism is basically any view that seeks to minimize governement. Beyond that there are as many flavors as you want really.
@anornymorse I'm not sure using the same definition as has been accepted for several decades now counts as "redefining it"
@anornymorse What does the fact that the definition is older than you matter? Or did you mean me, cause you have no idea how old I am.
@orekix @a7 @anornymorse @gunkslinger
This is all quite amusing. I feel like gary reliving the debate in some nonsensical parody of itself:
@anornymorse @orekix @a7 @freemo
>Wait. Are you trying to tell me that Gary Johnson was a libertarian?
This is the level of Freemo's understanding of libertarianism.
@anornymorse @orekix @a7 @freemo Freemo has read Rothbard and Freidman.... So he claims.
@freemo @orekix @a7 @anornymorse
So how do you fund this government of yours without violating people's rights? What is the point of libertarianism in your mind if it does not uphold people's rights?
@gunkslinger
Depends my system wouldnt really be purely any model. But most of the ways I'd resolve that is simply to make governments opt-in.You choose what government you want to be a part of (the details behind this are complex) or no nation at all. Therefore you choose which tax/reward scheme you want as a result.
But how such a system works would take a while to deep dive on.
@anornymorse
I never claimed it to be a minarchism or even any other form of libertarianism. So no.
@freemo @anornymorse @orekix @a7
>I never claimed it to be a minarchism or even any other form of libertarianism. So no.
LOL!
@gunkslinger
A minarchism, by definition, represents the state as being, you guessed it, minimal. Usually covering just the night-watch needs. I made no claim that state need be minimal. Thus minarchism does not apply here.
@freemo @orekix @a7 @anornymorse
So what you've just described is something called "anarcho-capitalism" or "voluntaryism". Have you heard of them?
@gunkslinger
Yes I mentioned it earlier in fact.
@freemo @orekix @a7 @anornymorse Dude, take a nap.
@gunkslinger
Well if your the one repeating things I already mentioned earlier sounds like your the one that needs the nap.
@freemo @orekix @a7 @anornymorse
>Well if your the one repeating things I already mentioned earlier sounds like your the one that needs the nap.
LOL! Give it up, man. You've painted yourself into a corner and trying to change the history of this discussion won't give you wings. You're just going to have to walk across your handiwork like the rest of us would.
@gunkslinger
Are you seriously trying to fabricate some bullshit like I didnt just talk about anarcho-capitalism 15 minutes before you asked? Lol thats some impressive delusion you have going there. Ok I'm out then. I learned from flat earthers long ago you cant change stupid.
@freemo @orekix @a7 @anornymorse
>Are you seriously trying to fabricate some bullshit like I didnt just talk about anarcho-capitalism 15 minutes before you asked?
Here is your very first reply in this thread, and what prompted me to challenge you:
"Can't say I agree. In fact I know of no libertarian who advocates for no government at all. They are just anarchists."
THEY ARE JUST ANARCHISTS.
Take the L.
Cos this is about to enter "opinion fucking discarded" territory.
