Depressing how little response I get to posts at birdsite. No wonder I never enjoyed it much there.

Here [mastodon home instance] in an hour I have more interaction than there in a day, at least. And the quality, no comparison.

Keep cool, πŸ’“

@design_RG Same. Birdsite is really just a circlejerk for celebrities. Not to mention the vast majority of followers are bots. It has no value left for me.

@freemo there are some interesting media presences there, it would be nice to bridge them over here. Scientific American, The Economist, New Yorker, The Atlantic for me, all favourites.

Along with The Guardian, NY Times.

Can we have Botz ???

@design_RG @freemo When I get back to my computer I might make you some via bots.tinysubversions.com. There are probably some bots out there for you, though.

@realcaseyrollins
Thank you, Casey!!

Would love to learn too, maybe you can share your experience and pointers.

@freemo

@design_RG @freemo Here you go!

I found these:
@TheEconomist
@NewYorker
@TheAtlantic
@guardian
@nytbot@gab.com
@nytopinion

And made these:
@sciam
@sciam
@TheEconomist
@NewYorker
@TheAtlantic
@guardian
@nytopinion

I use the BirdWatcher script @n@linuxrocks.online wrote, which makes bots for accounts on both birdsite.monster & bots.tinysubversions. IIRC posts usually are unlisted, and on Birdsite.Minster, their posts are always hidden under a Content Warning.
