@hansw@mastodon.social yes, I like and use Filters too.

And have documented them, via a series of guide posts, a another instance where crossposting from TW by an obnoxious user there was a real annoyance.

Got many thank you messages back for that! 😜

OP there : todon.nl/@rgx/1034790661686242

Screenshots show :

1. Filter configuration to remove annoying posts (a LOT, actually).

2. Results shown in Local timeline ("Filtered")

@hansw@mastodon.social Which reminds me...

...that very likely I could be perceived as the local annoying user. 😺

But, I have a social conscience and am polite enough to show those who might despise a substantial part of my content here, just HOW to get rid of it.

Easily, in detail Guide. Pinned at top of my profile, easy to find.

If we were in fact about curated STEM content I might say your posts would annoy people. But as you know thats not what we are about. We just want STEM people and we want to hear all their ideas, thoughts, comments and discussions.

Its about bringing like-minded smart people together and hanging out and chatting.

In that regard your doing just fine with what your posting :)

@freemo

Thank you, I appreciate it.

I get HUGE notifications every time I go into Twitter and start relaying back my favourite photos. There's many cat accounts there, and some are following mine, we enjoy it.

As do the many, many people who add Follows to my account all the time I do a Cats run. 😛

Clearly, it's appreciated.

But - I am quite happy to provide that Filtering Guide for anyone who is not interested in Felines. They have the choice of clearing all of my posts in that by hashtag (about 460 currently or so, more coming).
