@ianmacd seems they blocked us, which I heard someone say before.. They never gave us a reason other than because we let our users have an uncensored view of the fediverse that makes us worthy of a block, which makes no sense to me, but whatever.
here is what I use for crossposting and it has always worked well for me: https://moa.party/
@freemo Thanks. I'll try that.
I've only just noticed the flag next to your name. Nederlander, toevallig?
@ianmacd I have a house there and usually spend most of my year there, however this year with the virus I was absent a lot sadly.
My dutch skills are so far non existent. My past attempts to learn mostly failed but when i go back i intent to get a dutch teacher.
@freemo Ah, OK; a good thing I didn't just switch straight to Dutch, then.
Where are you actually from, or where do you live now?
@ianmacd born and raised in Philadelphia, though I genuinely dislike americans and american culture (though i know a few good rare americans, most are annoying). Dutch is where I'm happiest and more so identify with in terms of the culture.
@ianmacd I take it your dutch and live there?
@freemo I can identify with your sentiments.
I moved to Amsterdam 30 years ago from the UK, spent 5 years working in Silicon Valley, and my wife is American.
So, I understand better than most what is great about the Netherlands, what is often annoying about Americans, and which American things are great (e.g. the bold, can-do attitude of tech start-up culture, and the affordable National Park system, to name a couple).
I assume your house here is rented out at the moment. I hope you can make it back here soon.
@ianmacd yea im eager to get back myself. And seems we agree on the good points too.
Assuming the crossposter and the instance have the same blacklist, QOTO is blocked on their end. You'll see us under "Servidores banidos" at the bottom of https://masto.donte.com.br/about/more
@freemo I was trying https://crossposter.masto.donte.com.br
It seems to be the de facto crossposting site, but I'm open to other suggestions.
