Just a reminder.. Biden has, so far, spent significantly more time on vacation than Trump did.
Biden has spent 74 days so far on vacation, in that same amount of time Trump only spent 42 days on vacation.
Remember all those cries about Trump golfing... now ask yourself why they are silent when Biden is spending so much **more** time doing the same?

I would like to add one thought.
USA evacuated 123000 people from Afghanistan. This number includes Americans, Afghans and everybody else.
Still there are 100 people needing extraction. Today were extracted 4. And it's not over yet.
It is bad that 100 people are still there. However if we translate this to percentages, 99.92% of people were evacuated. And 0.08% of people are still there.
It's not perfect, but it is a very optimal result. We should be celebrating-ish.
I believe it's a bit exaggerated to declare as a government failure the planing and execution because 0.08% of people still is there.

And yet of all those thousands of people everyone of them was extracted too late and sloppy. The fact that anyone is still being extracted at all is the problem.
Biden already failed miserably, at this point its just a question of how miserable, and that isnt looking good either.

Biden doesnt get credit for abandoning Americans just because the Taliban are more competent and capable than he is.

@pthenq1 Not intended to be aggressive. Your excuse is just really absurd in an attempt to try to justify something rather than just accepting your president isnt perfect in a lot of ways.
I also never said the "insurrection" didnt happen. I said calling it an insurrection is a joke when a handful of people had delusions of grandure and the bulk of the crowd behaved more like a tour group. I also compared 4 years of democrats burning down building to the republicans.. what.. tress passing. The damage was minimal compared to the democrats riots.. they didnt burn down a single thing, and aside from break through a few doors (which is unacceptable) did relatively minimal damage.
The irony with that whole incident is that democrats who did far worse the 4 months leading up to it had no room to talk about a much less violent act by a much smaller number of people. At worst we can call it a riot. To call it an insurrection is a joke.

@freemo If I stop and think about it, this doesn't even seem all that controversial. Every modern president takes more vacation time than the rest of us. It's almost like being responsible for 350M fickle assholes is a crappy, stressful job... One could make the argument that Trump's vacations were more expensive than his predecessors. Bush 2 took aprox 3x more time off and spent less, but if we want to talk about govt waste there are much better places to start.
@freemo That's both of Bush's terms vs Trump's one btw. Republican presidents over the last 50 years have cumulatively taken more time off than Democrats. I'm not smart enough to accurately gauge what impact, if any, that has had on the well being of the country though.
@b6hydra To me it has nothing to do with expense, its how much time the president spends not working... Biden has spent more than half of his days as president on vacation.. could you imagine being hired for a stressful CEO position and only working 3 days a week? You'd be fired in a second.
@freemo That's likely true. I want to be clear that I'm not making excuses for Biden specifically, nor am I specifically condemning Trump for that matter. Like I said, modern presidents in general take a lot of time off. I'm not any happier with the trend Biden is setting than you are but it's not really something new. Going back to the Bush 2 example, which is admittedly a bit of an outlier, the guy only actually worked a little over 5 out of the 8 years he was president. Trump by comparison spent over 1 out of 4 years on vacation, and Obama less than 1 of 8 years. No matter how you slice it, even presidents who take the fewest vacations still take way more time off than us lowly citizens are allowed.
