Fuck feminism, yay equal rights, this is not equality

@freemo personally I wouldn’t wear such a shirt at such a special event. It would feel objectifying to me.

However, as an individual I respect his choice to wear this shirt when he wanted as he saw fit and it’s actually not big of a deal since this is not even something like hate speech. Harassment is definitely not okay.

@louisrcouture Cosnidering the women arent in sexual poses I wouldnt consider it objectifying personally.

I find it best to flip these things around to get perspective. If a woman wore a shirt with a handsom person on it, say the rock, in various non-sexual poses like flexing his muscles, would that be objectifying or inappropriate? I don't feel it would.

@freemo they are dressed in kind of a sexual, way though.

But my understanding of social norms would make me think that a women wearing sexy guys on a shirt taking a picture in front of a big public after you made a breakthrough discovery wouldn’t be something that neurotypicals would find appropriate.

@louisrcouture this wasnt a photoshoot. This was a picture of him int he background cheering at his desk as he does his job.

@freemo some people, such as me are neurodivergent and may say thing that are not interpreted correctly (a lot of people will extrapolate what I said), and people will be quick to call me bad things like you’re this and that, when I never meant to offense, sometime, I do not get social cues and context either.

I assume this guy is probably also neirodivergent and didn’t get that if just wasn’t something « appropriate Â» in the social context, and then he got railed on by a bunch of angry feminist who are very quick to judge and do not try to understand the true intents behind what someone do. We need to stop judging (yes it’s hard even for me) and start understanding more.

To be honest with you, I kinda blame the guy a little bit! You're a male, don't grovel or cry!!

Still, FUCK feminism thoroughly

@freemo

@freemo
As a feminist, I find claims that this shirt is sexist dubious, and more importantly, who the fuck actually cares about a weird horny shirt?
But imo the principles of feminism dictate that we should be much more focused on men's issues than we currently are right now so, *shrugs*

@Zest I agree... but you are using feminism more to mean "equal rights for people of all genders"... sadly thats what feminism SHOULD mean, but in practice it rarely does, at least among those who claim to be feminists.

@freemo tbh it's probably long overdue that people promoting social justice along gendered lines adopt a new label to distance ourselves from the contemporary common understanding of the meaning of 'feminism', but I can't seem to convince other good feminists of this. People tend to be pretty stubborn about definitions.

Also just to be clear, I don't just advocate equal rights for all genders, but also try to address social issues which people face on a gendered basis. So things like art on a shirt might be relevant, but my methods don't include targeted harassment campaigns.
