@freemo I think conspiracy theorist is over used. It’s either true or false or has’nt been proven yet. A theory

@posrev yea i dont mean it in the literal sense. I mean wackadoos, flat earthers, people who think covid has never been isolated and viruses arent real, the obvious crazies.

@posrev @freemo let's call them conspiracy Delusionists cause ruining the phrase conspiracy theory is a danger in its own right just as George Carlin put it. youtu.be/bO0-u900OG4

Sorry for the cookie slide show that goes with it ;) ... Sadly I think it's true that the powerful also seed much wacky theories as to hide the legit ones, I think that's real. People that fall for the wacky ones like viruses don't exist have been intentionally mislead but what's the motive ?

@twotwenty
I did'nt know about him. He's good. I like this one as well.

@twotwenty
The words used here arent too important to me. But i want to point out that while there are many conspiracy theories that have the potential of being true and are reasonable hypothesis the one important quality is that, by virtue of being a hypothesis, is not rooted in evidence and is pure speculation. That alone, even in the more reasonable cases, makes it quite damning when they are asserted as if they are a known fact.
@posrev

@twotwenty

I dont think people in power need to seed the wacky ones. The vast majority of people are plenty stupid on their own to come up with that crap honestly.

@posrev

@freemo @posrev

They do not need to but they do. Would you agree the biggest reasons why people latch onto B$ are a) we live in a fantasy consumed world and b) lack of trust in leaders. The symptoms can be irritating and can be treated with things like censorship but these things will only help us ignore the root causes to go unchecked.

I believe the lack of trust is well founded. Forget the crazy bat shit and try to deal with the more legitimate ones.

Like weapons of mass destruction in iraq, lies of the leaders and perpetuated my media. This great window in time showing us how much power controls information in our media system. This particular lie lead us to kill and displace an entire society and our children to grow up with mis trust while feeding them hundreds of millions of dollars of lord of the things, if we didnt let yesterdays children grow up with that maybe they wouldn't be so confused. The root cause really is lack of integrity in our leaders, attacking the poor fools will not help anything but our own egos.

@freemo @posrev The fact the CIA and NSA exists the way it does in the light of whistle blowers undeniable evidence which the MSM ignores getting into details about is eye opening and scary, this is a root cause and the people who have no foundation of trust and reality get attacked by those that are apathetic to the above and prefer to punch down to annoying symptoms.

This is the stark reality.

@freemo @posrev if your in a debate with a B$ symptom simply find common ground at length and throw a few seeds of truth with doubt to them to think out for themselves. This is more effective.

@twotwenty
I find the majority are quite incapable of navigating truths or reasoning objectively at all. This will work with some, but its a small minority. Even those who are capable dont want the truth, they invested too much into the fantasy to back down now
@posrev

@freemo @posrev This is true, time, commitment and ego in falsities put up dangerous walls.

it is interesting seeing what people latch on to on both sides of all debates that are clearly fucked. I tend to be soft on the dissadent ones that seemingly lack any financial motivations even though they go so farthest out in fantasy land.

I guess alot of conspiracy crazy comes from the chaos motivation when you sit in a circle or order outside (which could be a different nation, race, or your own controlled mind).

Experimentation is fun.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discordi

this fun, intelligent humor will bring new and dangerous meaning to life :D paradoxical and ironically filled with truth.
It will also help you embrace bullshit as a reasonable way forward.

@twotwenty
I think alot of it comes from the lack of critical thinking skills combined with the fact that the consipracy theories are usually easier to understand and play to their prejudices.

For example its easier to think there is some elite illuminti controlling the world and pitting people against eachother or fixing prices than to understand psychology or economics and how these sorts of patterns can arise naturally. It also plays against either anticommunist or anticapatilist views where its all some big plot to push one or the other. Its easier to blame some small group in power than to blame society as a whole, partly because atleast if its a single person or group in power doing it the. The solution is singular, get rid of them.

@posrev

@freemo @posrev I get exceedingly mad when goodd people that are mislead want to burn the entire system down as if it was created purely by evil... since revolutions and millions of lives evolved to what we have clearly constitutional democracy is imperfect and corruptible but its still better then monarchy and pure democracy .

so I agree we need to cast off the coprrupt leaders from the boat.. This is the metaphor I use..

we are on water world, the system is a boat and its currently occupied by corrupted assholes.. the boat is the onnly means of not downing available. Dont burn it down throw the pirates off.

@twotwenty
No doubt, the system has plenty of corruption. I just dont think its some small minority in control in secret. The control, corruption, and manipulation is largely in plain sight and more or less contributed to by the majority of the political sphere.
@posrev

@freemo @posrev it is mentally lazy to think there is one small group, in fact there are many small groups and some of them are powerful and tend to frequent the same parties yet have their own motivations, sometimes those motivations coincide.

Interestingly the masons, builder berg parties and bothemium grove parties exist... but maybe the elite like getting drunk and having their dicks sucked as much as crack heads.

@freemo @posrev if the hearts of humans were purely good both communism and capitalism would be just fine.

a hammer can be used to build a house or strike your neighbor.

@twotwenty
B is certainly a factor... A not so much, but maybe some. The biggest factor though is poor education and lack of education. Schools and parents do a very poor job at teaching children critical thinking skills and that is really the biggest issue, thry lack the tools to evaluate the nonsense and understand the truth.
@posrev

@freemo @posrev

Sorry for interjecting BTW. Yes critical thinking is something that should be taught at a young age. Its surprisingly easy to teach children between 7-12 critical thinking .

@twotwenty
No need to be sorry. And yea its easy to teach when they are young, not so much the adults.
