@posrev conspiracy theorists.
@freemo I think conspiracy theorist is over used. It’s either true or false or has’nt been proven yet. A theory
@posrev yea i dont mean it in the literal sense. I mean wackadoos, flat earthers, people who think covid has never been isolated and viruses arent real, the obvious crazies.
@freemo I agree. That would be delusional
@posrev @freemo let's call them conspiracy Delusionists cause ruining the phrase conspiracy theory is a danger in its own right just as George Carlin put it. https://youtu.be/bO0-u900OG4
Sorry for the cookie slide show that goes with it ;) ... Sadly I think it's true that the powerful also seed much wacky theories as to hide the legit ones, I think that's real. People that fall for the wacky ones like viruses don't exist have been intentionally mislead but what's the motive ?
I dont think people in power need to seed the wacky ones. The vast majority of people are plenty stupid on their own to come up with that crap honestly.
They do not need to but they do. Would you agree the biggest reasons why people latch onto B$ are a) we live in a fantasy consumed world and b) lack of trust in leaders. The symptoms can be irritating and can be treated with things like censorship but these things will only help us ignore the root causes to go unchecked.
I believe the lack of trust is well founded. Forget the crazy bat shit and try to deal with the more legitimate ones.
Like weapons of mass destruction in iraq, lies of the leaders and perpetuated my media. This great window in time showing us how much power controls information in our media system. This particular lie lead us to kill and displace an entire society and our children to grow up with mis trust while feeding them hundreds of millions of dollars of lord of the things, if we didnt let yesterdays children grow up with that maybe they wouldn't be so confused. The root cause really is lack of integrity in our leaders, attacking the poor fools will not help anything but our own egos.
@twotwenty
B is certainly a factor... A not so much, but maybe some. The biggest factor though is poor education and lack of education. Schools and parents do a very poor job at teaching children critical thinking skills and that is really the biggest issue, thry lack the tools to evaluate the nonsense and understand the truth.
