My favorite futuretime: outversing the postfix of words I say and prosidering what their new meaning might be.
@Clementulus @freemo Hah, it's fun to deconstruct the words we use. A friend of mine is Jamaican, a Rastafarian. He won't use the word "understand". It makes no sense. He says "overstand" instead.
@shuttersparks @Clementulus @freemo I work for an Indian company and occasionally hear colleagues say ‘prepone’ meaning to bring forward, as the opposite of ‘postpone’. Makes perfect sense.
@rodti @Clementulus @freemo I might steal that. It goes along with proactive, etc.
@shuttersparks @freemo I always took ideas to be immaterial, like the air. They float around our heads (our thinking organ) like clouds. We stand under them. I don't step all over things I would like to know with my feet ![]()
@freemo
Prosidering would be form a thought by looking side-eye at a bunch of data points without "considering" what they mean when brought together.
And to quibble about latin: it should be exversing and suffix technically XD
