Moisturizer is just a heroin addiction for your skin. Do people even realize that if you use it more than a few times it causes your skin to need it to even function and like cigarettes you need to use it just to get your skin like it used to be.

People who use it for years and then stop will literally have their skin peeling off and cracking.

@freemo It is advised that young men not stop moisturizing and it seems to be effective.

@AmpBenzScientist Im more worried about women who tend to really abuse the fascial creams and masks... people often say how men age so much better than women, ya ever think it is the toxic chemical sup they cover their face in 24/7?

@freemo

And then come to the same conclusion about chemicals people put INTO their bodies.

@AmpBenzScientist

@niclas

As long as we refine that statement to "toxic chemicals" then sure... everything is a chemical :)

@AmpBenzScientist

@freemo

Yes, true. I was thinking of many medications and many food additives.

@AmpBenzScientist

@niclas

Most food additives are perfectly safe and its usually a lot of crazy people thinking its bad (the same sort of people who think seed oil is bad).. Like MSG is often seen as bad, it isnt of course, same thing with many dyes. That said, there are bad ones too of course.

Medications are a mixed bag, none of them are perfectly healthy on their own. Medication is always a balance between the risk reward compared with the underlying disease.

@AmpBenzScientist

@freemo

When there are "side effects", then clearly not good for the body.

Personally, unless I think I am about to die (once), I have kept my body free of medication.

@AmpBenzScientist

@niclas

Side effects != bad... EVERYTHING has side effects. Protein has the side effect of killing off your kidneys, but in reasonable doses it is quite good for you. Just because something has a side effect doesnt make it bad. The dose makes the posion.

@AmpBenzScientist

@niclas

You also cant keep your body free of medicine, everything you eat, every breath you take is a "medicine".

@AmpBenzScientist

@freemo

Your pettiness has reached new levels ;-)
"Everything can kill you", yeah sure.

@AmpBenzScientist

@niclas

You have it backwards, the point is medicine isnt a word that means "bad".. everything is a medicine, the ones that can kill you need prescriptions, the ones that cant you dont is all. Many exist in nature either way.

@AmpBenzScientist

@freemo @niclas @AmpBenzScientist Yep. Dogs eat grass to settle their stomachs. People drink coffee to make it easier to poop. And all-natural honey makes for an amazing burn salve. Food is medicine.

@LouisIngenthron

Coffee also is great for headache when the headache is caused by vasodilation (the most common type).

Also aspirin is literally just a isomere of salyssillic acid that occurs in I think willow tree bark. which even in its raw form is a reasonably effective pain killer.

@niclas @AmpBenzScientist

@freemo @niclas Nothing from nature is bad like aflatoxin or nitrosamines. Pop a tablet of something closely related to a molecule that naturally occurs in chocolate and oh it's very bad.

@freemo Ozempic is just a heroin addiction for the metabolic system

@salcedo How ya figure? While many things certainly are, that doesnt seem to be the case here. Cessation causes your natural GLP to reassert itself just fine.

@freemo I have no evidence. That was more of a snarky jab to say good kid morning. Carry on πŸ˜„

@freemo good morning rather (iOS app edit feature is borked)
