ℹ️ Short URLS are not innocent sites like Wikipedia (as they wouldn't need to mask it with another address) and it can 'hop' sites!)

Bitly, TinyURL, etc all guilty! So it's useful to see the entire chain of path and the final server to which a short URL points. (can be more than one purpose and server purpose along the way!)
