@freemo #QOTO #Block #suggestion / #question / #request
Is it possible for #blocked servers to be marked visually in the #UI?
Another way could be like an email responder) so if I send a message to someone that is blocked then I get a message back?
But just something on screen might be much better to see what's what when sending or even before...
For better clarity it would be good to see if people don't physically see it before sending...

MORE ABOUT WHY
=============
I'm doing social change messages (Public and DM) I so I would like to distinguish between those who can and can't see me or server(s) that don't let us communicate.
To have an icon, colour, message would be great. Thanks
#QOTO page saying the servers we block / servers blocking us?
@freemo What do you think about you publishing it and saying:
- which servers we block
- which servers you know blocking QOTO
This info is good for existing users and those signing up to know.
Could be in #QOTO about page or a blocking page where it says a list (even if not updated often) as a disclaimer instead of me having mixed feelings trying to work it out.
I know I've sent messages but got nothing back which is like weeks/month of delays.
If serious about this Fediverse stuff and not wanting to join Facebook instead or whatever because at least that works, I think this works with saying to everyone to know at least.
No tool is needed as you know from doing any blocking yourself or from discovery of your users reporting back messages not getting through.
Just listed on a page somewhere.
@freeschool Sadly the way the AP protocol is designed, and mastodon itself, there is no guaranteed way to determine if a server blocks you or not. The only way you can know is if the server publishes their block list which in most cases they do not, not even to their own users.
