@elliswyatt No one can be an expert on everything, and while we may be compliant when we follow experts, we have a much better chance of things turning out well than if we feign expertise and the capacity to evaluate information when we are informed by dubious knowledge. Sure I was compliant in getting COVID vaccinations, but it served me well.

@elliswyatt yeah, the problem with “not everyone agrees” is that that are allowed to base their agreement on incomplete, inaccurate, false information. At this point, if you are denying recent climate change as a human-caused phenomenon, then you can be sure I’m judging your abilites to make informed decisions.
@elliswyatt sure… sure… but the anecdotal empirical evidence of my experience suggests otherwise :)
It’s actually interested me for a long time. Physicians, for example, who deny climate change. I think it shows just how incapable humans are of transferring their skills.
Which seems to suggest a logical inconsistency in my post!
Logical inconsistencies. I can see them, and they make me question your judgement on everything.
#science does that to you.
I trust experts. I know they recognize when they are wrong and they change when they get better information and better ideas to explain information.
That’s what #science teaches you.
@hasmis Yes, and admins are scared of IT!
@hasmis Agreed, but they often can be advocates for teachers when IT people are doing stupid stuff.
The IT We Need: Appropriate, Proper, Reasonable – https://hackscience.education/ https://hackscience.education/2017/11/27/the-it-we-need-appropriate-proper-reasonable/
Hey teachers, if you are going to share students’ work with others, get their permission. I don’t care the rationale or the justification. If you don’t you are showing gross disrespect for them as humans and creators. #edutooter
I am a skeptic, but I am convinced by evidence.
I am open-minded, but I am not gullible.
That’s what #science does for you.
