No IT professional wants users of their systems to be ineffective and complaining

What works to configure functional IT for users in a typical office setting and to keep user productive and not complaining may result in unproductive and complaining IT users in schools.

Schools are places where information technology (IT) systems have been installed. These are seriously complex systems. In the vocabulary of IT professionals, they are enterprise systems (or perhaps business systems in small schools) and managing them requires specialized expertise.

Maybe it is the physiological responses that trigger emotions? For example when our brains sense fight or flight has kicked in, we experience fear.

Maybe we start by ensuring our data are valid and reliable and ethically collected.

In politics , we can change our definitions to ensure agreement. When dealing with natural phenomena, they proceeed as tey will regardless of our definitions or agreement.

Note to leaders: You need to figure out which rumors are true before you start acting on them.

One thing I have learned during 35 years in education: Micromanagers adopt that style because they are not comfortable or competent to perform their job.

Let's start designing classroom that can adapt to changing circumstances.

Effective schools requires political leaders recognize the nature of learning.

If we accept education is a technology for the wicked problem of preparing young people to participate in a quickly changing global social life, then it is reasonable to conclude that no single action (or set of actions) will suffice to permanently prepare a school for the work.
