Skeptics are leaders’ most valued assets... they point out weaknesses... laggards and the “this is they way we have always done it crowd” are not skeptics. #leadership
I used to teach #highschool students how to write essay answers on exams. “They have little time to grade ‘em, make it easy to read and find what they are looking for” was my rationale... and I taught them a formula “which is *terrible* writing, but effective in this case.
If you believe one method of #teaching can be applied to all learning tasks, then you are wrong.

If you are a #DataDriven #educator or #leader, then you must be prepared to defend your data... that’s what we do with data... we challenge its assumptions, collection, analysis.
Why do people who are clearly quantitative thinkers and competent at computing become so apologetic and dismissive about the #math abilities? Maybe it time we seriously rethink the damage done in mathematics #education. #mathchat #maths
“Solve real-world problems in the video game!” OK... solve the problems the programmers put into the game... solve simulations of real-world... solve problems within the micro world of the platform... these complement, but are not Authentic Learning. #edtech #edchat #education
Without #students, #classrooms are empty-physically, culturally, contextually, pedagogically. The idea one can meaningfully plan a class before meeting the students seems disingenuous.
