Perhaps this is where a technology like Tim Berners-Lee's Solid project would help; where you have a single identity and agree to 'share' that with fediverse apps like Mastodon, Pixelfed, etc. I don't know if that's the answer, but I feel like more work on making it possible to fully own your identity on the fediverse would be good.

My favorite projections of a 360° capture of the #eclipse2024 moon shadow running over us at lake Erie's south shore. 40x speed up.

Alan Bates is already the folk hero of the Horizon IT debacle, but his inquiry evidence confirms that in Bates the Govt & Post Office picked the wrong adversary; his steely determination already depicted on TV to devastating effect, is one of a key reason successive Govt.s & PO management teams have been unable to bury this injustice.

While nothing about the actions of the PO & Govt. in this case now surprise me, this a picture of what is wrong with Britain.

Also Sir John Hays, cheerleader of the Tory right & that Common Sense Group + SPUC supporter. CSG’s Edward Leigh probably on the same bandwagon.

I can’t help feeling that giving some of my grandkids a BBC micro, and cassette player, and the BASIC manual would help them learn so much. Sadly I’d have to lock them in a sealed room for a year as well, they would get so bored these days I bet. They just don’t appreciate quite how much happens behind the scenes on their gadgets. The layers and layers of code and hardware. Shame…

I thought I’d got the pronunciation after the recent schism but now I’m not so sure…

John Wiseman’s gpsjam.org shows where GPS interference is occurring. As reported by aircraft ADS-B metrics.

Don’t get me started on sh*tty home vendor stories. 7mths between agreeing purchase & completion during which time vendor seemingly gave up on any pretence for straightforward, routine maintenance jobs.

Of course, Zuca’s pouches can used elsewhere. While the Pro is sized to comply with std IATA airline carry on dimensions some European airlines eschew IATA recs & make their own rules (eg Ryanair) so I’ll use the pouches but in another piece of luggage. IKEA sold packing pouch sets too, don’t know if they’re in the present product range.

Perhaps… many people hold the misconception that MP’s are moderately intelligent.
At the outset of 2020’s COVID lockdown, my constituency’s MP maintained that he needed to travel to Westminster as using Zoom/Teams, whatever they were supposed to use, was not possible as he’d barely mastered use of SMS text messaging.

Have used a Zuca Pro for some yrs now. It came with a set of similar pouches, fantastic piece of gear.

A frequent correspondent recently informed me that he’d found a bunch of my emails in spam (I think an O365 hosted service).
I checked my DNS settings for SPF, DKIM, DMARC, all were as advised (by Fastmail, as mail host, & A&A, as DNS service).
On the to-do list to dig deeper.

I’ve been much impressed also on recent visits to London. Not just that it’s new & shiny but stations are bright & spacious.

Want to book a Interrail seat reservation for a TGV, TGV Lyria or Eurostar?

Don't bother using anything other than Rail Europe any more. Don't mess with ticket machines. Avoid extra booking fees. Just use Rail Europe. That's it.
