@jahnke hey, not sure if you can call me a mathematician or not. I work with some pretty deep maths though. Right now I'm working on distributed computing stuff mostlly but i have some mathy side projects that may never get done but mant of them have a lot of groundwork laid and i come back to them from time to time. Various algorithm ideas in machine learning

I am working with left-invariant involutive structures on compact Lie groups. It has a fancy description. Still, it is just the study of solvability and regularity of linear systems of partial differential equations. These linear systems have some nice algebraic symmetries inherited from the Lie group. Symbolic computation is fantastic! Can you be a little more specific on the problem you are working on?
@jahnke I study arithmetic problems related to finite fields, that appear in cryptography or coding theory. For example I study the ways of efficiently computing embedding between finite fields 🙂.

I am a French PhD student located in the Paris area. That's my third year! (PhDs are shorter here than in some other places, so it might also be my last year...)
