🇺🇸🇺🇦 Zelensky: I would really like the US not to perceive Ukraine as a country that is just asking. It is not so. Ukraine is defending its interests and values.
Of course, America is right when it says that it is further away from this war than Europe. This is understandable. But we see US allies in the Middle East, and we see what and who threatens them.
The war is not as far away as we think.
War comes when you are weak or alone. Enemies see when alliances are divided.
"The #US is no longer a #democracy. One of the most credible global sources on the health of democratic nations now says this outright. The Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem) Institute at Gothenburg University reaches the alarming conclusion in its annual report, that the US is hurtling towards #autocracy at a faster rate than #Hungary and #Turkey.
...the US ... has lost its long-term status as a liberal democracy."

In January when Trump was about to invade Greenland, a considerable force of Danish Dragoons, special forces soldiers of the Jaeger corp, and french Alpine Hunters, were deployed, alongside Danish F-35 fighter jets, and French Navy vessels.
Blood supplies were flown in, and airstrips were rigged with explosives to prevent insertion of American forces.
The Kingdom has prepared for war two times in 100 years: Against Hitler in 1940, and Trump in 2026.
Republicans talk about the SAVE Act as if it just requires a photo ID.
The voter registration and proof of citizenship requirements are the real problem, as most state driver's licenses won't count as valid ID.
Having to register in person with an overpriced passport, which most people don't need, or a birth certificate in your current name, is designed to frustrate millions of Americans, especially married women who changed their names.
Trump is begging Republicans to pass it for a reason.
Who'd have thought that a bill to constrain corporate donations to political parties in the UK contains many loopholes that would make it largely ineffective.... I wonder why that is?
Just more declaratory politics pretending to do something about the creeping corruption of our democracy but actually doing little to stop the political class sucking on the corporate tit (as it were).
Another policy area where the Greens are more robust than the mainstream!
I got down from the bird and jumped onto the mastodon. Went from #science to software development, mostly #webdev.
