1. Even if we removed every nitrogen atom from the human body, including those dissolved in the various fluids, we would only lose ~3% of our body weight + 1L of nitrogen gas weighing approximately 1.25 grams. (Of course, we would also die instantly as all of our enzymes and proteins that do functional work in our cells would just be yeeted into oblivion).
2. Thicc cows probably fart more than thin cows, though this is purely speculation on my part 😂
@freemo @trinsec I think that's just a symptom of mild decompression sickness and/or the stress from adjusting the partial pressures of the different dissolved gasses in your blood which can inhibit oxygen metabolism. I wouldn't expect just pressurizing and depressurizing to actually increase metabolism by any appreciable margin, though I could be wrong.
@johnabs
Well yes it is exactly that, the stresses of off gasing. Its just a question of if that stress burns calories, and it may not i dont know.
If it did burn calories then pressurising and depressurizing would too as that is ultimately what causes you to on gas. Pressurize someone to 100 meter depth, wait 15 minutes, the. Slowly depressurize. Do it once a day and youre golden.

@johnabs
It isnt the weight of the nitrogen that would cause you to loose weight. Afterall offvasing nitrogen only brings you back tonbase levels of nitrogen anyway. The reason i suspect you would loose weight is the calories you burn actually doing the off gasing. Any dover will tell you when you scuba dive, especially with decompression diving, you get very tired, more than the physical activity alone would suggest.
