The term "theory of meaning" has figured, in one way or another, in a great number of philosophical disputes over the last century. Unfortunately, this term has also been used to mean a great number of different things.

Every time I hear of the trolley problem, I forget they're talking about trams and not shopping carts

i got the words "jacuzzi" and "yakuza" confused

now i'm in hot water with the japanese mafia

A question.

So I'm working on this fictional world where computers and robots become self aware. Humans get scared and some of them start living off the grid. Many bots get pulled offline as well. One of my characters starts a zine as a way of keeping people in touch.

Here is my question. If I published this zine for real (dispatches from this fictional world), would you subscribe?

I'm thinking it would be an email newsletter, printable so you can share with offline friends.

@Anjoria yes, I've used Linux intermittently over past 15 years, as my main one for 2. However 2 mission critical apps are non Linux compatible which rules it out from replacing Windows 10 (which I'm happy with)

As for the gilded cage of the cult of Mac, No thanks

@alexcleac@mastodon.technology I raise you the cryptonomicon passage about the difference between elves and dwarves (slick Jobsesque imagineers selling the future of Bitcoin and distributed apps vs the bearded guys hunched over a keyboard mining cybernetic gold)
