@hilljam @axwax @m2m @controlfreak overheating was an issue with any tech back then. I remember our bass player who was also a video VJ was doing visuals at the Sub Club in Glasgow and had fans on everything, full blast. He went to use his lighter to see something and it would not spark. There was not enough oxygen in the air for combustion yet the floor was full of clubbers giving it the little box big box
Simone here. I've been a sound and web designer for more than 25 years. Professional bass player and producer, I've been juggling between creativity and technical jobs for decades.
I'm trying to go back to the videogame industry after a 5-year stint as lead sound designer for a console game. I was present at both the launch of Steam by Valve and Game Audio Network Guild, in San Jose, GDC 2002.
Passionate about the small web, static site generators and web standards.
This is interesting… read it, it’s not what you might think..,

@sundogplanets guess that’s what Space Force is for!
Welp, I'm giving another talk on satellite pollution so I have to update the numbers in my slides.

Oh crap, there are 150 more Starlinks than when I gave a talk on this topic 1 month ago.
3908 Starlink satellites out of 7545 total satellites.
52% of all sats now owned by one awful dude. Still with effectively no regulations. This is so bad.
Hello World!
Here's a little #introduction:
I'm a German web developer currently living the rural life in Spain making olive oil, breeding goats and growing vegetables.
Before that I spent 23 years in the UK, studying sound engineering, working at and then running a community radio station and volunteering at a #csa project 1/2
@axwax @m2m @hilljam @controlfreak ah yes! I used an Akai S900 which took oooh 1.44Mb’s but still I could only fit samples fir three songs on one disk. So every three songs the singer had to do a talky bit while I fiddled with the sampler 😂🎹 ah those were the days…
@Richard yeah and that’s just the warmup for the main act that takes the stage on Oíche Eoin (22nd June?) when it’s open season. Around us it looks like several planes have crashed at once. Love your minimal web page btw and may I be so bold as to suggest a css property of min-height: 100vh to get the blue to cover all the viewport
@oldrawgabbit definitely coming round to that way of thinking. Got a great personal onboarding last October from one of the top mods on my server, everyone can see my toots (had to lock down bird account).
I love it when all these #developer types post pics of their flawless minimalist low lit colour coded water cooled mechanical keyboard curved monitor rising desk and Big Mic setups. I’m happy as a pig in proverbial with this. It does the job and leaves me enough desk space for the tea.
@oldrawgabbit thanks for the follow Trillian let’s engage! I was one of the bird site refugees in Q4 2022, ended up keeping that site on, but starting to engage more here again, as it’s more like the old Web 1.0 that you and I remember!
