@progo I'm told that it's a scenario where Person 1 sends a message on a platform that does read receipts, and then Person 2 opens the message but doesn't reply.

Person 1 knows that Person 2 has seen the message but since they haven't received a reply, they've been "left on 'read'".

Very similar to having a message "left unread" (which the kids *don't* say, I'm told) but the key difference being that the sender knows the recipient *has* seen the message.

If an unjust law is no law at all and an unenforceable contract is void, then copying without permission is not something that can be legislated against

Hi, I'm old. I just found out that the phrase is "left on read" and not "left unread" and I can't understand why you young whippersnappers talk so strangely

I love how free speech is a thing and then when someone shares a thought, people will tell them things like "I have no idea why you felt the need to comment about this"

I feel like if I went to a "silent disco" I would feel more compelled to just sit and listen than I would when listening to music not on headphones

Tipping was cooler when we weren't asked to do it.

@verita84 How does whether or not we can grow food have anything to do with if a society cares about the solar year?

If it wasn't for the seasons, would society care about the solar year?

these guys marketing website's design is craaaazy. dont think i've seen anything like it! normally not impressed by scrolljacking but i'll give this a definite pass: pierre.co/

@sir_rob That's great to hear! I'm hoping having another option for big stadium hockey means more cheaper tickets so my kids can experience it more often

@SirHendrick The masses have spoken and I guess a "yield" sign is technically an upside down triangle

I'm willing to bet that a supermajority of the people sharing this would reconsider having that stance when they realise the cost and lifespan of a product sold with a single payment that's going to work flawlessly

If someone says "upside-down triangle," what do you picture?
