I keep hearing people calling an audio production that is only available on a proprietary platform with a paywall a “podcast” and it’s starting to drive me up a wall.

Fiction that surrounds a single workplace and, of course, the 💘 romance 💘 that happens, makes me wonder:

Why don’t all these (fictional) workplaces ban romantic/sexual relationships between staff? Other than the fact that it wouldn’t be a good story without it, of course.

If you're listening to music and it's not inspiring even a smidgin of emotion, y̶o̶u̶ someone is doing it wrong.

Got an email in the catch-all inbox (for emails sent to non-extant addresses in our domains) sent from Microsoft 365's email services that included an asterisk in the email address. The fact Microsoft allowed that to send seems very odd.

What always gets me when reading the genealogies in the Old Testament is how there's the odd name that we in the English-speaking world use as given names but then they're right next to ones that "sound weird"

I just read a Forbes article offering "eight tips to master the art of small talk" and it was horrid.

#1: use positive self-talk to reduce anxiety.

Yeah that doesn't help.

#2: don't forget there's a reason for small talk.

Yeah duh there's a reason but that doesn't mean it's not inefficient and often useless.

#3: show interest in the other person
#4: ask questions
#5: be verbose
#6: ask verbose questions

Could've just said "adhere to stereotypical politeness guidelines" and covered all four in one point but we needed padding, I guess?

#7: act like extroverts

There we go, finally saying it outright.

#8: do #1

Wow, great article. 10/10. My life has been greatly improved.

I hope this email finds you well
I hope this email minds you
I hope this email brings you in
And in the darkness binds you

The graphic design chops within the indie music world never ceases to amaze

When I hear "wardrobe malfunction" my first thought is always that the person is talking about the second time the children went in The Wardrobe.

"Once there was a man who held a political make-work job ... shining a brass cannon around a courthouse. He did this for years ... but he was not getting ahead in the world. So one day he quit his job, drew out his savings, bought a brass cannon—and went into business for himself."

What is your primary reason for using social media?

The irony of "thing" instead of "think" not being caught…
