@boilingsteam That's pretty cool that Valve took note of his tweet and gifted him one ahead of time.

Yoshida from Sony has received a Steam Deck - Remember when Sony used to make handhelds?: #linux #linuxgaming #sony #steamdeck #hardware #handheld #psp

QT yosp: Thanks to @valvesoftware, checking out #HorizonZeroDawn on Steam Deck :D

@jimbob DNS block facebook, google and the big guys and your internet experience will instantly be improved.

@linmob @XxAlexXx That rant reminds me of the @lunduke "Linux Sucks" 2010 days, as someone who spent at least 2 weeks on the last year I definitely understand the pain of how slow things run and especially had trouble with mobile -- maybe that was a thing idk. The experience was better at the time and I was able to use the music player to do a 10k library, though it did run slow. Eventually it fell out of my pocket and part of the screen shattered -- so the gorilla glass in the pro is very welcome, though I am disappointed by another underpower CPU -- I see Pine as a stepping stone to help the software development catch up to where it needs to be.

I wouldn't mind getting a mod to the and adding a 4G LTE modem or equiv connected via USB or something if that's feasable. If the battery can hold in a low power state it could be an excellent phone though larger form factor.

@randynose @stux What size? Typically you do sets of 3 no larger than 25 so you are not holding your neck in a awkward position

@unicornfarts 2021 part 1 was pretty good. I can really see how a TV would make a big difference as there are many darkly lit scenes. Also, as expected the bluray-era audio is a bit obnoxious with really low talking and SFX at 600%+. Without spoiling anything, the movie felt refreshing and taking risks Hollywood wouldn't dream of without straying too much from expectations of the original 1984 movie and book. The pacing is slow to which is refreshing, not Space Odysee 2001 slow, but maybe 75%. Seeing it in would be pretty sweet.

Another lost treasure of the internet is the sci.electronics.repair FAQ.

Just look at this goddamn thing. Thousands and thousands of words, chock-full of battle tested wisdom, enough to help anyone with some motivation solve their problems. Zero monetization, zero bullshit. What ever happened to that Internet? I sure do miss it.

@syscrash @rootbsd@distrotoot.com For a moment I thought I was seeing the resurrection of fbcondecor / fbsplash used to have the coolest TTY background images back in the day

@carcinopithecus@x0r.be @be From my reading Google wants Firefox on life support indefinitely so they can claim in the EU that they are not a monopoly. So they certainly will press their advantage but they need a stake in their competitor much like Bill Gates invested in Apple in the 00s for similar reasons.
