Going through boxes of old letters and came across one from my friend Ally (unsigned, but I remember when she—I thought of Ally as he then, but that’s only because it didn’t occur to any of us to use the pronoun associated with what a person was inside, only what was on the outside—slipped it under my dorm room door). So much pain and frustration at being stuck in the wrong body. I hope she’s living her best life now, these many years later.
I see reports of slowing growth on #Mastodon. Good. Don’t tell anyone else. Everyone here is awesome.
Except the artists. Tell them. And the scientists. And the musicians. Tell them too. And the chefs. And the space nerds. And the mountain climbers and surfers. And the farmers. Tell them. And the horticulturists. And the photographers. And the software developers. And the poets. And the astronauts. And the dancers. And..
Tell interesting people, the fediverse is where you want to be.
I’m being admitted to the hospital again for one more procedure. Again both hips. It will be simple and I’m putting all my hopes this one will help me a lot. Cross your fingers for me. Have a drink or whatever you enjoy and a great weekend.
This was really fun to listen to! With @TamikaNews and @elliotcwilliams "Out There: Sampling non-alcoholic cocktails with Umbrella Dry Drinks" https://wamu.org/story/23/01/12/get-out-there-01-12-23-umbrella-dry-drinks-dry-january/
@stopdesign @tantek.com interestingly, TrackBack was designed before AdWords or Adsense existed, so there wasn’t authentication because there was no financial incentive for link spam. Google changed that and foisted a spam tax on the whole rest of the internet that eventually killed TrackBack.
@frankfoster Right on. Found you on LinkedIn in the meantime (and saw that you were looking before I posted about our opening). Will definitely keep you in mind for future opportunities! If you would ever consider moving, please do apply.
Please tell me there's a clip of this that I can link to. If there is, I'll post it asap. So good.
@frankfoster Where are you located, btw? (If you don't mind saying.)
After becoming a regular daily errands-and-commuting cyclist in NYC for a few years now, whenever I get in my car to go somewhere ...
... the sheer weight and size of the metal around me seems positively *sci fi*
I mean, cars?
They're basically MECHAS. Right?

I cannot keep this to myself. There is a website (radio.garden) where you can listen to radio stations all over the world for free. No log in. No email address. Nothing.
When the site loads, you are looking at the globe. Slide the little white circle over the green dots (each green dot is a radio station) until you find one you like.
I have been listening to this station in the Netherlands and it absolutely slaps. I have no idea what they're saying but the music is fantastic.
@juandesant me too! In the meantime I’m listening to the three soundtracks while I work.
@frankfoster Unfortunately no, this is local in the Santa Clara Valley, California.
If you’ve built apps with SwiftUI, that’s great! But if you’re thinking “this job is not for me because I haven’t learned SwiftUI yet,” that’s probably not the case.
The Watch Frameworks team is growing, and we're looking for another SwiftUI Frameworks Engineer! This position is working on SwiftUI itself, so Swift and UIKit skills are more useful than experience building apps with SwiftUI. :-) https://jobs.apple.com/en-us/details/200452190/swiftui-frameworks-engineer-apple-watch?team=SFTWR

Now posting @lorihc. Find me there!
