@lucifargundam
Jobs - ah my fortune for you...
(see picture). I see that you were overqualified,,, hmm yes,,, and they just picked you out of the line 'just by coincidence' hmmm.
My dear they fast-tracked you to something they needed more for themselves...
(globe lights up via foot pedal underneath)
Not completely my place to speculate "all is not clear in this old ball" and "destiny can change in the blink of a bats eye that lives in the corner of this room" but from that conversation I get the indication that you were overqualified and they just picked you out of the line.
They fast-tracked you a bit to something they needed more for themselves...
The quick call kind of confirms that and skips all that other shit for the more questionable types or less heavy hitters!
It's a compliment from them and some Tetris on their part to get what they want.
Also perhaps a little lie there about "promised this position to someone else" which of course they might not want to tell you the exact internal details of, preferring to say a white- but if this isn't true it (maybe they still have plenty of people to go through and assume it will happen) - I just wanted to say about their honesty or even misrepresentation is possible which in the actual work and practice could be important to you and others know really what's going on during work not what they skip or present differently... like if they are going to say something else etc.
Many would lie instead of saying "We didn't want you for that crappy job and we prefer you go for that since you hit harder there and we will give that other job to plenty of lemmings for that". They kind of also managed your out of applying too for that job!!
:) Manipulation what a game!
I would negotiate higher pay if what I say seems obvious.... and taking your time to 'sleep on it' to read new job spec / contract because they might assume you will go for anything or slip 100 things in for the same pay level (anything to save a buck even if they have it).
So give offers a bit of time and straight away tell them that you think it's worth a few thousand more just like pricing a care compared to the other car (job) if you know they are pulling a fast one and say a few thousand or whatever to get a ballpark game going... and frankly a bit of respect if it's disappointing
and then "let the dust settle or the offer sit", sleep on it etc... however you want to say it
Then let me know how it goes dear...
*small cough*
(don't forget to pay the fortune teller!)
....
I do feel a bit like a fortune teller saying that... but more obviously their job is to manage the right people in right place and well you got picked and were probably over qualified. And you passed the sanity test via call so are on your way...
Now pay the little lady with the crystal ball :)
And don't forget what she said!
Ask for more and even say your fortune-teller told you to hold out ! (They'll like that)...
@lucifargundam Whoo! Crossing fingers some more here!
