2) gotta be hungry enough

go to the store and find some easy bake boxes that only ask you to 'add water' or 'add water, butter, milk' as starters

with fewer ingredients/steps- its a lot harder to mess up.

I think I'll make some sugar cookies tomorrow...
Maybe something else as well if I can find a simple recipe
