@tom - No, it's IPS, with a cradle for charging. I can get about 4-5 days off a single charge. Bright and clear display, though I would have liked either e-paper or OLED. Considering the price point, and it's already good battery life, I'm happy with it. :)

Unfortunately, it's just a misleading title in an otherwise reasonably accurate article. The PineTime definitely doesn't run Linux. Pine don't (as far as I know) claim that it does. That said, it is part of a larger Linux ecosystem, what with the PineBook Pro, PinePhone and PineTab etc. To an outsider, it may lead one down the garden path of assumption.

@lucifargundam hmmm I don't think so. An RTOS is very very different from something like linux or even MacOS or Windows. And just to clarify, PineTime does *not* run Linux or any Linux based OS as it stands. Additionally, the chip for the watch is an nRF52832 which is Arm Cortex-M based. This would make the theoretical "porting" very difficult and even if you were able to I don't see how that would be beneficial as the battery would die incredibly fast due to not having the sleep and realtime functionality of an RTOS given the low capacity battery it has.
Having said all of that, I'll let @lupyuen comment as he is most certainly the expert on this.

Contributing to an evidence base may be a way of highlighting the problems and shaming people with money into doing something about them.
