@lupyuen Wondering how they plan to implement this and, specifically, how they intend to link every device to its user or owner's identity and age. I assume this is something they were already doing (the way big tech does it, with trackers and user profiles based on their online activities; WeChat's omnipresence makes that even easier), but this particular measure suggests something more crude, like a centralized device registry. 🤔

@lupyuen The Verge's article makes the mistake, perhaps stimulated, perhaps just copying simplistic takes on the Stanford paper, of confusing Mastodon, an application running, individually, on any number of serfers, with the Fediverse, a network of many servers, many running Mastodon.

As well report Microsoft Word is rife with X where X is nasty, since many authors of X use Word for their work. Excel is rife with fraud may be closer, fraudists using spreadsheets.
