@vielbein Wait, what're you talking about? Qoto is a STEM-oriented instance... isn't that science enough for you?!
@trinsec Oh, yeah! But I believed here we had more specialized stuff...LoL Perhaps we are in the beginning of decentralizing specialized stuff...Not sure...
@vielbein I dunno, what specialized stuff would there have to be? We've got a list of nice extra features that you can see in the About page, some of which are useful for scientific articles.
And besides Qoto there are a few more science-oriented instances, so there are definitely some science servers around.
@trinsec Now, I have seen, but It has waiting list, that ...Can I use LaTeX rendering here, like $x^2=y$
@mathlover @trinsec @freemo I activated markdown but yet I don't understand its use...lol
@vielbein Markdown is a standardized easy-to-write language for basic things like bolded text, italics, headings, links, quote blocks, code blocks, etc.
Look it up, there'll be plenty of resources telling you the gist of it. :)
@trinsec @mathlover @freemo Tutorial on markdown anywhere here to read it?
@vielbein Just search online, there are so many guides about it. First hit: https://www.markdownguide.org
:P
@trinsec @mathlover @freemo I have rendered two equations in mathstodon, lol...Cool... $$E=mc^2$$ work there nicely!
@vielbein It's actually broken-ish. It does 'render' but not always correct. It looks like shit over here for example. Just wait until this gets fixed before you annoy others with the rendering errors. :P
@trinsec @mathlover @freemo I prefer LaTeX anyway!!!! hahahaaha...
@mathlover @trinsec @freemo Markdown??? What is that?
