West of the Western Ghats, the ghats block all the rainy clouds coming from the Arabian Sea. We get all the rain, people beyond the ghat gets none :P

I think there is also the book
'Britain's Birds: An Identification Guide to the Birds of Britain and Ireland'
it is full of pictures so would be easy to identify birds

As some of you know, I've been on the kidney transplant list for a while, since 2019, to be exact. I'm listed at 1 hospital, & am working on getting listed at another. In the meantime, you can help! Kidneys from living donors are healthier and last longer on average than kidneys from deceased donors. Can you help me find one? I'll be honest. I don't think I fully understand the fediverse. I thought I did when we were just talking in terms of Mastodon, but when other sites started getting in on the game, I realized maybe I didn't. As I'm typing this though, I'm realizing the benefits. I do that a lot, answering my own questions as I'm asking them, lol.

Sometimes I wonder, is there even any point to putting the word out about my need for a kidney online? But then the people at the hospital tell me to do whatever I can, and I know a donor can come from anywhere, and I figure, at least it can't do any harm!

Honestly, this is great! The students learn to check sources, discover that ChatGPT is unreliable, *and* can't use it to generate essay question answers for them, all at the same time!
