If we had a world where people werent violent, didnt rape, didnt steal, didnt break into houses.. .then sure in theory americans might.
I'm not sure such a world is possible anytime soon though.
Also even if we felt safe enough not to need guns to protect ourselves there are plenty of other reasons to have guns that might encourage us to keep them anyway... hunting, fun, shooting as a sport. Hell I use it for physics education sometimes too :)
Now make sure to remember, kids, the golden rules of gun:
1. When someone tries to do something bad, best solution - shoot them in the head!
2. Everyone gets guns means only good people get guns, because bad people are dumb subhuman apes who just can't think or use their thumbs!
3. Good, kind, peaceful, empathetic, law abiding citizens always win the gang wars!
