Just discovered #vss365 ... I didn't see how long "very short" is supposed to be, but I think I'm going to go with seven sentences. Today's prompt was kraken. I just kinda jumped into it. Would it help anyone if I put a header or something on it? (Haiku are short enough you can't miss, but I wouldn't want anyone to think I was shit posting when I was actually fiction posting)
@PavelASamsonov me, sneering at my passengers: oh? So you want me to slow down just because I can't control the taxi? Get real you jamokes!
In the deep, in a saltwater cave the leashed beast lies. Cold and coiled, in dreamless sleep that muzzles bloody promise. A horn sounds, the mountain shakes, the kraken is broken free!
Murder and mayhem, fire and fury, the sea churns thickly red. The horn blows twice and rage rimmed eyes hate the speck that sounds and bloodlust cries to bring the sounder down. But the kraken turns toward the deep, heeding the call of home. For so it loves the cruel madness, it also loves the leash.
@shelenn oh yeah. I have seen that before. Pretty neat execution on it
@VickForcella
A: What is there to hate about answering questions?
@shelenn
A: Who is Eliza?
Going to make up a FAQ that's basically just asking the questions back to the reader.
Q: What happens if I miss a day?
A: What would happen if a day was missed?
Q: Can I buy multiple at a single time?
A: Can we stop you?
Q: Why are you answering my questions with questions?
A: Why do you think a FAQ would do that?
@swilua a person's greatest gift and greatest curse is that they can't stop changing the world
@Gbudd sneaky 👍👍
@zaratustra @lorenschmidt
I suppose inversion is a better word than rotation. The existence of a dimension includes it's own negative, is my proposal
@timorl maybe I'm missing a piece here, but the reason you don't treat future people the same as currently living people is:
1) they don't exist
2) their potential existence does not give them a probabilistic moral standing
3) even if 2 is wrong, they have no way to voice their needs or desires
Future people shouldn't be treated the same as living people because they do not have moral standing as full people. They're more like a species of tree we don't want to go extinct. I can comprehend it's general needs (air, water, sunlight), but there is no want to understand it's specific needs
@urbanistorg there's a stand like that in the SNCF station in CDG. airport in Paris, too. It's pretty neat
@trinsec ok so. The first thing about thirsts is that they like honey pots. The hotter the better. So I figure I'll leave some warm honey around so they think there's an absolutely smoking hot honey pot nearby (which there will be). When the thirst gets close, BAM! Doors close, trapped thirst. As they say in the biz: wham bam, thank you ma'am.
