I find it really bizarre that people in Parliament are pretending today that they take lying to Parliament seriously.
Politicians, especially (but not only) the current lot do it all the time.
Is this their way of trying to pretend that the lies Johnson told to Parliament were somehow unusual and that they're all good chaps really?
