@geantonicelli I doubt Musk cares at all or that Mastodon takes up any of his time. Is there any evidence for this claim of blocking links? Or just somebody from one instance saying it? People in general are very bias. If that were to happen to me, and it was true, I wouldn't post it without a screen recording showing that it's true. Makes the claim sound ridiculous without it.
@geantonicelli Oh ok, that's something then. That would also happen if the person on the other end of the DM unfollowed the person sending, I think. Or if the account became banned.
I'm just not sure, from those 2 screenshots, you can deduce that Musk is scared of Mastodon and is blocking all Mastodon links. Although, I do appreciate your 2nd update saying that it was just from one instance (one user). If he was blocking links like that, that would be a major issue in my mind.
@geantonicelli I tried 2 people from that domain and both would not post. I tried a few other domains, and fine. I will have to keep playing with this more. It's become interesting ha
@geantonicelli They have been blocking domains for while, gonna read more up on it, and see if I can figure out why they block these https://help.twitter.com/en/safety-and-security/phishing-spam-and-malware-links
@obi maybe it's because of spreading fake news though this isn't disclosed in its policy
@geantonicelli I wish we knew when it was blocked. That would help a lot. I understand twitter blocks domains that are spam, or illegal content, but I would need to see something major to explain why a whole domain of users was blocked. Maybe the domain itself is more than just mastodon?
@obi possibly 🤪😅 maybe someone at #climatejustice.social could enlighten us #twitterban #mastodoninstance
@obi well, I thought it was general until I checked it, that's the reason of the update
