Apparently the #EFF has chosen an open pit mine for hate as their "hill to die on"...
eff.org/deeplinks/2023/08/isps

Because there is no valid reason to ever defend #KiwiFarms and #HurricaneElectric has the right to #DROP [#DontRouteOrPeer) traffic to them for all the valid reasons...

If @eff wants to join that beyond-#StochasticTerrorism & #Hategrooming site, then that can be arranged...
github.com/greyhat-academy/lis

Much bigger "#FreezePeach" fans have folded when customers decided to yeet them aka. boycott and cancel them...

Cuz if I were a donor of @eff I'd cancel my donations since they seem to have been accepting shit like #KOSA, #EarnItAct and other
#Cyberfacism without any action or even formal protesting...

@kkarhan @eff I'm a bit confused by this statement. EFF *has* been sounding the alarm on KOSA, Earn It, etc. They even put up a whole round-up of action tools back in July. Why do you say they've been quietly accepting?

eff.org/deeplinks/2023/07/you-

@KelsonV @kkarhan @eff He's upset that they don't think this ISP is the right bunch to be intervening here.

It involves a particular site, which I think started off as one to harass a particular person.

@olives @KelsonV @eff nah...

People who defend the hategrooming scum of #KiwiFarms are just bad.

Regardless if #EFF, #CloudFlare and whoever else is hosting or providing services to said shitsite.

I'm not going to reiterate shit - look it up yourself...

And then tell me your position...

@kkarhan @KelsonV @eff I think there is kind of a distinction with a T1 provider, it is a greater bottleneck.

It is frustrating how seemingly ineffectual they can be in fighting for free expression. They're a free speech group, but unless the government is passing a bill, they nap in a lot of cases.

Government authoritarianism is important to oppose (and I suppose you don't want core infra providers with itchy fingers), of course, but so much is of a more corporate nature.

When I say free expression, I don't typically mean Joshua's little site here, it's more basic things like sexual expression, art, and more.

protectthestack.org
When they do comment on that (sort of), it is primarily in the context of infra.

@olives @KelsonV @eff you don't get it, do you?

1. #HurricaneElectric isn'a a Tier-1 and even if they were, there is no legal mandate for them to accept anything or provide services to anyone.
Espechally since there's no legally enforceable #NetNeutrality :loading: nor are they regulated as a "utility service" with "must provide" clauses.

2. Providers are already very twitchy and they'll block entire ASNs if they get listed by #Spamhaus.

3. #KiwiFarms is indefensible thus invalid discussion.

@olives @KelsonV

4. I'd follow @eff's argument if they also protested against financial embargos with no legal backing by payment processors against anything even remotely considered "sexual".

5. It only applies to KiwiFarms' ASN, so it's not as if there is any collateral damage to it.

6. You can make the argument about censorship by big providers once GMail, YahooMail, Outlook.com/Hotmail/Azure Hosted Exchange/GoDaddy et. al. do process abuse reports and don't just randomly block stuff...

@olives @KelsonV @eff 7. Considering 1776 Solutions is a #RogueISP, #DROP is an act of self- and mutual defense against being abused.

Just like blocking all traffic from GeoIP'd ASNs originating from Russia, China and North Korea is usually considered an act of self- and mutual IT defense.

8. #HE could've chosen to instead force the other providers connecting #AS397702 to DROP them under threat of terminating them as customers, but that would've had actual collateral damages.

@olives @KelsonV @eff
9. If it were my decision, Joshua "Null" Moon would already be in a 6' x 6' x 6' concrete box for his leadership in said CSAM-laden hategrooming & stochastic terrorism org.

Sadly noone pays me to change that.

But I'd be open to offers...

@kkarhan @KelsonV @eff I haven't heard of it being "CSAM-laden".

It's strange that he can openly do what he does, especially as specifically creating it for targeting someone, and posting content, would make him liable. Risky.

@olives @KelsonV @eff they habe so much CSAM on their site that they got fired for that by gandi.net ages ago...

Again, stop advocating for shitheads that won't even wait till you outlived your role as useful idiot for them!

@kkarhan @KelsonV @eff If that's there, then that is even more surprising, as the government is pretty no nonsense about that.

I'm not advocating for anyone. It's just a surprise that they chug along without anything happening to them, if they're doing all of these things.

@olives @KelsonV @eff he's not in the USA, but in some small village in Serbia with a fake local ID.

@kkarhan @KelsonV @eff Imagine running all the way to a little village in a distant country to operate a troll site out of...

What has the world come to.

@olives @KelsonV @eff You've to ask him directly...

I'm shure you'll have it easier to get in touch with him considering your constant downplaying of his actions.

I'm just not going to put filth on my life dragging that POS where he belongs...

@kkarhan @KelsonV @eff "constant downplaying" I think you're interpreting posts in the worst possible way.
