Wait until they find out that Mastodon wasn't the first fediverse software (as if emerging from the Big Bang at the the start of the universe).

Read why "Web Environment Integrity" is terrible, and why we must vocally oppose it now. Google's latest maneuver, if we don't act to stop it, threatens our freedom to explore the Internet with browsers of our choice: u.fsf.org/40a #EndDRM #Enshittification #Google #WebStandards

@internic I don't think it makes a whole lot of sense to lump an "annoying post" in with "abusive behavior".

I have gotten a post before telling me something which literally everyone knows, lol.

@literalgrill Well, I suppose Mario is a Nintendo franchise which is a Japanese company (although, not one which usually comes to mind, lol).

Ugh, I'm getting a feeling of deja vu for some reason.

I could suggest something but I'd have to know what sort of things you like.

@gabe Honestly... Quite a few:

Better sync? I'm seeing a fair bit of stale data.

Better threading.

Less clicking to get at information.

Perhaps, add an option of just seeing "new posts", rather than infini-scrolling down to *just the right spot* to read through them.

I don't know if I could achieve all of that, but those are things off the top of my head which would help.

This anime is about average. If you want something to kill time, it might be okay.

Alien invasion (except they come one at a time) giant robot anime.

Oh, cool, a cute micro android anime.

I remember these being a bit of a thing in the past. Maybe, I'll watch it... Maybe. Well, maybe.

EFF tears apart proposed reforms to Section 702 (involving the FBI's use of data gathered via NSA mass surveillance) as grossly insufficient.

Even if you don't like either of these two things, I'm not a fan of them, the State is a blunt instrument, and especially so with these particular implementations.

Noting that large platforms were probably already hunting for terroristic content, however, the State getting in on the game pushes the scales further towards false positives.

The Avia law gave the State a lot of power (which came with problems I won't go into here, although over removal of legitimate content would likely be one, as well as the principle of proportionately).

France has become disturbingly authoritarian lately...

Honestly, they were kind of so before with the Avia hate speech law (ruled unconstitutional) and by pushing for the E.U. Terror Regulation which mandates filters for "terroristic content" on large platforms.

They were warned by civil rights groups that actual terroristic content is very rare, and that it is more likely to hit legitimate users (such as journalists) in the majority of instances.

I remember there was a lawsuit against the Terror Regulation. I hope that regulation falls.

Since you seem interested in this, for more Floridian stupidity, the education board has effectively banned the AP Psychology course in schools, because it contains elements pertaining to gender and sexual orientation.

It just gets worse.

The Free Speech Coalition has sued Texas to get their anti-porn law thrown out as unconstitutional.

Oops, I accidentally dead named them. It isn't Twitter. It's X.
